Lentigines (REEPOT) — Treatment Overview

1. General Information and Description

REEPOT is a medical laser treatment designed to target and improve the appearance of pigmented lesions, particularly pigmentation associated with sun exposure and ageing. It uses a 532 nm Nd:YAG laser wavelength, which is strongly absorbed by melanin to selectively target areas of excess pigmentation.

REEPOT features VSLS® (Variable Spot Laser System) technology, allowing the laser spot size and energy to be adjusted for targeted treatment. Its contact cooling system also helps manage skin temperature and improve treatment comfort.

REEPOT may be used for pigmentation such as solar lentigines (sunspots or age spots), freckles, and other superficial pigmented lesions, depending on individual suitability.

2. How It Works

REEPOT delivers 532 nm laser energy to targeted pigmented areas. The energy is absorbed by melanin, helping to break down excess pigment so it can be gradually cleared by the body.

Its VSLS® technology allows the spot size and energy to be adjusted according to the size and characteristics of the pigmentation. The device also uses CPTL® (Constant Pressure Thermal Laser) contact cooling to help control heat exposure and improve comfort during treatment.

REEPOT offers three treatment modes — Single, AutoDerm, and Semi-AutoDerm — allowing treatment to be customised according to the pigmentation and treatment area.

3. What to Expect and When Results Appear

REEPOT is generally well tolerated, with its cooling system helping to improve comfort during treatment. Anaesthesia is usually not required, although it may be used for individuals with increased sensitivity.

Following treatment, the pigmentation may temporarily appear darker as the targeted pigment responds to the laser. Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or sensitivity may also occur.

Post-treatment care may include applying ointment and a hydrocolloid dressing to the treated areas, depending on the treatment and medical advice.

Visible improvement may develop as the treated pigment clears. Many patients may see noticeable results after one or two sessions, although additional treatments may be recommended depending on the pigmentation and individual response.
